It also supports your immune system by enhancing antibodies and immune cells to help fight illness and diseases while regulating our hormones. Protein does all these amazing things provides energy, maintains fluid levels, and supports our bones and organs.

Protein is an essential nutrient that plays many roles and is needed for many activities your body does daily.

How to Make Cinnamon Crunch Protein Balls

These cinnamon crunch protein balls start with pantry ingredients that come from the earth. You will be using coconut oil, coconut sugar, cinnamon, protein powder, vanilla extract, almond flour, nut butter, maple syrup, and salt. We also suggest a bowl and some parchment paper.

A Note on Sugar and Nut Butters

When it comes to sugar and nut butter this will be your decision. We chose coconut sugar because it's slightly healthier than refined white sugar. It has a small amount of iron and zinc but it is still sugar. If you are looking to count calories please note that coconut sugar and white sugar have about the same calorie count but some studies have stated that coconut sugar does not spike blood sugar quite as much as white sugar. With nut butter please choose your favorite. For this recipe, we chose almond nut butter for a little nutty taste, however, we have tried it with peanut butter which provided a slightly saltier taste. If you want more crunch then we suggest a crunchy nut butter.

Let's Get Cooking!

First, grab your big bowl. Mix all the ingredients except for the coconut sugar and half the cinnamon.

Melt the coconut oil in a separate microwavable safe bowl, or if you are avoiding microwaves you can melt on the stovetop in a saucepan. Then, pour it into the big bowl. Mix everything well.

Chill the mixture in the fridge for 30 minutes. Once time is up take the bowl out and wet your hands. Wetting your hands will prevent the balls from sticking to your skin.

Roll the dough into bite-size balls. Take another small bowl and place the coconut sugar and the other half of the cinnamon in the bowl. Take a ball and roll it around in the sugar and cinnamon mixture. Once complete, store in the fridge and enjoy.
